Subletting
An arrangement where a tenant hands over occupancy rights of all or part of the apartment to a third party in exchange for payment.

Subletting is strictly forbidden without landlord consent, and turning over the premises to someone else without permission can be treated as a contract breach. Landlords may approve a sublet in writing and, under specific circumstances, request a portion of any price markup over the original rent.
It is critical to distinguish between ongoing subletting and temporary commercial arrangements (such as short-term Airbnb hosting). Most rental agreements ban commercial guest hosting without prior consent and specify penalties like fines or contract cancellation. Obtaining written consent from the landlord before sharing the apartment is always recommended.
