The compromises here include the backdrop of air pollution from the bay area and the fact that it's not exactly a city of till-dawn parties. But for those who love a balanced life, an open and accepting atmosphere, and nature that practically walks right into your living room, Haifa is an incredibly easy place to fall in love with.
