A neighborhood in south-central Tel Aviv, near the Old Central Bus Station. Neve Sha'anan has become the center for the immigrant and asylum seeker community in the city – known as crowded, noisy, and multicultural: its streets feature cheap markets, ethnic restaurants from all over the world, and signs in various languages. Its advantage is a central location and relatively low housing costs. Recently there have been buds of change: social art projects, new real estate ventures, and an emerging urban art scene.
